Pool, Spa & Fountains

Nuflow's traditional method of relining utilizes an epoxy infused fabric, which is pulled into place in the cracked or broken pipes. In diameters over 50mm (2 inch), it's a breeze and the pipe sizes don't pose any concerns, however below this size has always been a little trickier. Not any more…

Nuflow Technologies and Pipes Down Under have joined forces to provide a newly patented Pool Pipe Repair kit system. Repair leaking, broken or cracked underground swimming pool pipe without the need to excavate. Pipe sizes ranging from 35mm to 50mm in diameter, in any length, with multiple bends are all achievable. This new process will repair the faulty underground pool pipe in a fraction of the time it takes to excavate and replace the existing pipe.

This new process will not only perform Underground Pipe Repair in a fraction of the time it takes to excavate and replace the existing pipe but will save thousands of dollars in machinery costs, time and labor costs along with no disruption to the swimming pool environmental surroundings. No failed attempts to match old tiles or pavers to new ones, no removal of favorite trees shrubs or plants, no loud noise and dust from jackhammers and concrete saws. A couple of hours of piece and quiet and everything is fixed.

Pool repair kits are carefully made of materials such as Santoprene TPR (ThermoPlasticRubber). The annealed external polypropylene helix prevents liner collapse, increases integrity and minimizes resistance during pipe insertion.

Liners can be inserted in virtually any lengths, around as many 90 degree bends as required.

HDPE (Black Poly-pipe) has never been successfully repaired in trenchless operations until now. Nuflow with Pipes Down Under, LLC can repair 1.5 & 2.0 inch HDPE pipe along with White Flex, rigid PVC, and 2 inch copper.

This smart new system not only repairs pipes to keep chlorinated water and other fluids contained, it also PREVENTS water from entering pipes such as conduits for communications and fiber optics.

FAQ

Q: I am a business, can we buy from you to install ourselves and or distribute Nuflow’s PDU system?
A: Yes. To install, you simply need to purchase a Startup Kit which gives you explicit instructions and know how to get started. You can then onsell to all the pool shops and other plumbers in your area. Once you purchase a high enough quantity per quarter, you will automatically go onto the Distributors price structure. This will allow you to on sell for a reasonable margin.

Q: Do I need any special tools?
A: All you need is the Startup Kit and a small compressor. Depending on the job, sometimes wetsuits, waders or even a qualified diver may be required, but not usually.

Q: What if the pipe develops more cracks after the repair?
A: The repaired pipe now acts as an external skeleton protecting the inserted liner. The pipe can develop multiple cracks, but the inserted liner will stand alone and remain water tight.

Q: How restrictive is the liner?
A: The liner has a smooth bore and is low profile. You only lose a few mm in an average repair, which compared to the flow rate of an old or damaged pipe, means that the relined pipe probably increases the flow rate marginally.

Q: Will the liner deteriorate?
A: A special non-corrosive Santoprene TPR (ThermoPlasticRubber) is used. TPR is impervious to most corrosive chemicals and wastes including chlorinated swimming pool water. We work with our valued customers to suit their specific needs.

Q: Whats it made of?
A: Our liners are carefully made of materials such as Santoprene TPR (ThermoPlasticRubber). The annealed external polypropylene helix prevents liner collapse, increases integrity and minimizes resistance during pipe insertion.

Q: Can it help stop infiltration?
A: The system not only repairs pipes to keep fluids contained, it also PREVENTS water from entering pipes. A common use for PDU in this way is with conduits containing fiber optics.

Q: The Price Point for repairs by digging around a pool is usually around $1000, can we do it cheaper?
A: Nuflow’s PDU is a well-researched, patented and quality product. It won’t be viable for every repair, but there is many times where digging and excavation is simply not an option. This is another option you can present your customer, and not surprisingly many will pay a premium for a non-intrusive repair.

Q: If there is a break in the line, can we just repair the break or do you have to do the whole line?
A: PDU installation requires direct access to the two ends of the Helix being installed. In a 20m line, we would recommend relining the entire 20m from pool to pump to ensure a long term fix. However, if there is only one problem, you could excavate in a convenient place (under a grass area or safely away from the pool and tiles etc) and this would allow you to repair the shorter section from pool to hole.

Q: Can we repair a T piece?
A: Unfortunately not at the moment with PDU. However with our traditional Nuflow relining methods, we have repaired them before. Alternatively we would recommend you excavate at the junction which will give you a close access to repair the problem line.

Q: Which Helix should I choose for the job?
A: The following is a guide only for pressure pipe as pressure pipe has corners rather than bends. Regardless of the number of bends in standard sewer pipe, you should be able to simply match the Helix to the pipe diameter. Every job will be different and you will gain experience in making this decision. Feel free to contact Head Office if you are unsure.

For anything over 50mm, contact us for advice as we do have larger Helix available.
